Jewelry Workshop with Melanie Isverding in Bucharest, Romania.
19.05. – 21.05.2022,
This workshop is about material – and object – related reflections. The impulses can move you towards a personal symbolic action in the context of Joseph Beuys cosmopolitan philosophy. We will look at the material semantics beneath the surface to find out how the choice of material can support your ideas on the narrative level. It is important to engage with the use and translation of material and motif. This reflection allows your own creative processes to become more conscious and make the implicit intention legible. With different methods we explore and experiment with found material. After your application/selection you will receive an email for the first impulse for the material selection.
Melanie Isverding is a professor at HAWK – University of Applied Science and Arts Hildesheim, where she leads and teaches the Jewelry and Body-Related Objects course in the Metal Design Department. The basis of her teaching work is her own artistic practice and research as a jewelry artist. Her work can be seen in national and international exhibitions, she gives lectures and is also frequently active as a jury member.
➠ The workshops are aimed at young artists:
