“Atelier Jamais” identifies with me and vice versa. All my creations reflect moments, wishes and feelings. The raw materials I work with come to life through passion. With each piece I create, I discover new worlds, and so new stories are created.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Law, I’ve fallen in love with jewellery making when I first walked into the atelier of Assamblage-School of Contemporary Jewellery. That was the place where I saw and learned that from basicly nothing, you can create anything.
A short while after I took the second class module in Cluj-Napoca, at Lupu – School of Contemporary Jewellery and from that moment on, everyday I rediscovered myself as a designer, the same way as it happens with every piece I create.
What are the main concepts translated through your work?
Usually, my jewellery reflect states of mind, emotions and feelings. For example, the collection for AUTOR 14 is about peace of mind and the communion with the Universe.
What material would you like to get to work with but haven’t had the chance yet?
Carbon fiber. I like its texture and especially its colour. I would use it combined with white gold or platinum.
How would you describe the person wearing your jewellery?
I want to believe that this person always smiles and knows that a simple smile offered to a stranger can brighten your day. Those wearing the jewellery I create are people who see the jewellery as more than accessories, they understand and recognise themselves in the stories behind every piece.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
In what concerns jewellery: it’s not necessarily an advice, but an encouragement from Alis Lalu – I was at Assemblage Basic 1 and nothing went well. I already had tears to my eyes. That moment Alis appeared and she privately told me that it does not matter that things did not turn out as I wanted right that moment and that crying shows how much I care. I don’t know if I ever told her how important those words were to me and how much they meant, but if I didn’t, I hope she will see it now.
If you were to be a piece of jewellery, what would you be?
If I were a jewel, I would be a ring, Personally, the ring offers more liberty of expression: you can combine in a ring elements from a pendant, a brooch or earrings. All at once if you wish. The other way around, the situation changes and I can feel the limits.
