Fernando Masone, artist and master papermaker, approaches cellulose with an experimental spirit. For him, paper is not just a surface but a medium of infinite possibilities. Its raw edges create rhythm, its volumes shape space, and its textures offer endless inspiration. In his hands, cotton paper becomes sculptural, tactile, and evocative, perfectly suited for the intimate scale of wearable art.
Since 2020, the duo has collaborated to create "vezzi"—narrative objects that combine cellulose and textile fibers in groundbreaking ways. These sentimental jewels challenge perceptions of materials and surfaces, pushing the boundaries of contemporary craftsmanship.

"VENETIAN PAPER BEADS" is a tribute to Venice's rich craftsmanship, where ancient materials are transformed into contemporary, one-of-a-kind wearable art. The collection draws inspiration from the concept of vezzo, a term used in the Renaissance to describe a bead necklace, symbolizing elegance and grace. In this collection, vezzo is reimagined as a "paper bead"—a delicate fusion of handwoven cotton paper, fabric, glass, and Murano glass beads, bringing together two seemingly distinct materials that have shaped Venetian artistry for centuries.
The paper beads, created through the ancient art of hand-looming cotton paper, are paired with the iconic Murano glass beads, combining Venetian tradition with contemporary design. This union reflects the spirit of Venice, where craftsmanship and innovation coexist, creating jewelry that transcends time. The collection represents the first chapter of an ongoing experiment that entrusts paper and glass to one another, as both materials are integral to the history of Venetian craft excellence. The historical allure of "paper pearls", traditionally fashioned from mussels, is now transformed through the delicate metamorphosis that allows the glass bead to blend seamlessly with the paper, reinventing the legacy of the impiraresse in a new visual and tactile space.
