Marina Berdila

Marina Berdila is a Romanian architect, graduate of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Architecture. For more than a decade, she worked in architecture and interior design, creating spaces that united functionality, beauty, and care for the planet.

Her personal journey brought her from Romania to Spain, where a new chapter unfolded. Between the challenges of adapting to a new culture, raising three daughters, and living with a neurodivergent mind, she found jewelry as an unexpected refuge. In a small Valencian workshop, she fell in love with fire, metal, and the meditative presence required to shape silver. What began as a therapeutic refuge became a new language.

Encouraged by the jeweler who guided her first steps, she embraced the craft through observation and countless hours of practice. In less than a year, her work was selected and exhibited in Madrid at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas and Museo Cerralbo as part of AdOC 2024.

Thus, Naturalesa was born: contemporary jewelry in recycled silver, where each collection is a metaphor. Raíz, inspired by barnacles, anchors us to our values; Piedra, inspired by hag stones, embraces scars as beauty; and Flow, inspired by mushroom coral, celebrates the strength of change.

Marina’s vision is that jewelry should not be mere adornment, but symbols that invite us to pause, feel, and reconnect – with ourselves and with nature. From recycled silver to sustainable packaging and contributions supporting marine biodiversity, every detail of her practice is guided by respect for the Earth.

For her, Naturalesa is a way of building again, not with construction materials this time, but with symbols that remind us that our depth, our stories, and our values are our greatest beauty.

Name of the collection:
Raiz Collection

Description of the collection:

Raíz was born from a walk on the beach, where Marina Berdils discovered a cluster of barnacles. Mesmerized by their intricate architecture, she began to learn more about these small but extraordinary crustaceans, creatures that can anchor even to moving ships and survive every tide. What struck her most was that barnacles never leave their shell: they grow from within, layer by layer.

This way of being resonated deeply with her own story and with the stories of many who live far from their homeland. As an expat, she wondered: what is our root when we are not grounded in one place? For her, the answer lies in values. Core values become the root we carry everywhere, the place we return to again and again.

The pieces of Raíz are first sculpted in wax, then cast into recycled sterling silver through the lost wax technique. Their organic textures echo the layered surfaces of barnacles, preserving irregularities while transforming them into contemporary forms. Each jewel is a reminder to pause, to anchor in what matters, and to trust the layered process of growing from within.

Raíz is more than a collection. It is a metaphor for what home truly means, a daily, wearable reminder of our values, even when the tides of life pull us far from shore.
