Novitas is a latin term that roughly translates with “oddity” and that indicates all that is new, peculiar and strange.
This collection is a window on the author's mind and passions, with intricate and sculptured pieces that take inspiration from literature, folklore, all Arts and nature with a dash of humor and quirkiness.

Technological progress and the advancement of science, while crucial to the improvement of society and quality of life, has created a disconnect between man and nature.
We believe humans are the pinnacle of evolution, but in the natural world we are just like other animals, part of an environment and a living cycle of life and death, in which one serves the other, and both are equally important.
In this framework death is not something to fear or to escape, but an inevitable consequence of being alive, a change of status in which what we used to be will nourish something else and maybe help something else live.
This collection is the culmination of a reflection on death and the philosophical (or not so much) end of things, spurred by a series of life events, readings and media, and it's particularly dear to me.
In each piece a flora, fauna and human element reunite and finally reconnect, mending the cycle.
