Squaring the Circle – An exploration of impossible geometry in jewellery.
This collection explores the intersection of geometry, form, and artistic abstraction, presenting a series of jewellery and cutlery pieces that challenge conventional aesthetics. Each design embodies a unique conceptual approach:
• Liberation of Gemstone reconstructs and reinterprets the traditional relationship between gemstones and metal, merging them into a unified form through reflective surfaces.
• Squaring the Circle Ring rethinks and redesigns the fundamental structure of a ring, questioning its conventional form.
• Crown (Set of Cutlery) deconstructs and redefines the traditional shapes of utensils, drawing inspiration from the spear, shield, and crown to create sculptural dining objects.
• Wave Ring explores innovative stone-setting techniques by utilizing 3D modeling to construct unique supporting structures, achieving a distinct aesthetic that challenges traditional settings.
• Edge Ring follows a similar approach, using digital fabrication to push the boundaries of stone setting, integrating precision engineering with sculptural form.
• Twin Points, Cross, and Loop Rings each capture distinct geometric and spatial dynamics, further expanding the dialogue between structure and abstraction.
Through this collection, I seek to push the boundaries of functional and conceptual design, merging craftsmanship with contemporary artistic expression.
