10 year of AUTOR: Over 100 designers from four continents and 27 countries come to the Bucharest National Theater on April 20 and 21, with a carefully selected selection of contemporary jewelry.

AUTOR, the only contemporary art and jewelry event in South-Eastern Europe, opens its doors to TNB with an exclusive selection of contemporary and art jewelry. For ten years, AUTOR has outlined with each edition a new way of understanding and wearing a gem.

On April 20 and 21, over 100 designers from four continents and 27 countries will offer to the audiences in Bucharest the opportunity to admire and purchase a curatorial selection of contemporary and art jewelry.

Raluca Buzura, one of the most talented Romanian artists of contemporary jewelry and one of the most longevous presences in the history of the AUTOR fair, is FOCUS artist of the 18th anniversary edition.

With a central positioning in the new edition of the fair, in the foyer of the National Theater in Bucharest, on April 20-21, Raluca brings to the Romanian audience the collection “She”, a porcelain metaphor dedicated to femininity in all its complicated, emotional, cute and fascinating sides.

“I first came to AUTOR 10 years ago. At that time I did not have much knowledge about this field, because in artistic education in Romania, jewelry is not fully recognized as a form of art, but rather as a craft. As a consequence, there were not too many artist-jewelers, and even less off a public. I think AUTOR has played an enormous role in their development. It created the artists’ exposure possibilities and thus, in time and by work, an audience loving jewelry, “says Raluca Buzura.

It is a space and a scene where the creator and his audience meet and communicate. We want to have as many meetings and as many lasting relationships as possible for this edition. Contemporary jewelry goes on, and AUTOR fair is one of the necessary stops.” said Dan Piersinaru, director and founder of the AUTOR platform.

In the preview of the fair, between 18 and 21 April, six international contemporary jewelry creators – Melanie Isverding, Alexander Blank, Hans Stofer, Florian Weichsberger, Kiko Gianocca, Therese Hilbert – premiered in Romania.

“Welcome to enter …” exhibition proposes a magical selection of papers presented in an innovative manner that invites visitors to step into the space where the jewelry transcends the ordinary and becomes art. The exhibition is organized under the supervision of AUTOR and is open to the public from 18 to 21 April at the Halucinarium Gallery.
